Milling has been around since the 1800's and NC/CNC started off in the 60's and 70's. In 1986 Roland DG developed the first affordable desktop 3D milling machine. As the creation of parts became a necessity in the design process for the creation of prototype parts, the late 80's saw the first Additive Rapid Prototyping (ARP) machines. Roland responded with registering the SRP trademark for Subtractive Rapid Prototyping and have continued to lead the way with affordable desktop and benchtop milling systems that just plug it to your PC and are ready to start making your parts with the included milling (CAM) software.

Roland for the Jeweller and Silversmith. As precision milling produces superior surface finished wax masters, plus a lot of customers were using the ever popular MDX15/20. Roland developed the JWX10 as a compact and versatile to answer the craftsmens needs. However, some potential customers wanted a fully automated solution with fixtures and software to match. Last year the JWX30 was developed to answer those request and proves to be the flagship in jewellery design.
